VI. Insulation Resistance Operating Instructions
Safety Precautions:
- Beware of high voltage electric shock. After the insulation resistance test is completed, confirm that the voltage on the object under test is less than 30V before starting to remove the test leads.
- During measurement, do not touch the object under test; Beware of high voltage electric shock.
- When measuring insulation resistance, the object under test must not be live, and it must be confirmed that the object under test is safely grounded. Short-circuit and discharge the two test terminals of the test object before testing.
- When measuring insulation resistance, do not allow external voltage to enter the test circuit.
- Before starting the test, confirm the position of the range switch and whether the test lead connections are tight.
- After pressing the insulation resistance test button, never touch the exposed parts of the meter or the object under test, otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.
Insulation Resistance Measurement
- Test Lead ConnectionInsert the black test lead into the INSULATION jack and the red test lead (or the test lead with a remote control button) into the other INSULATION jack. Connect the alligator clips to the test leads and attach them to the object under test respectively. When testing equipment with surface leakage, insert the plug of the test lead with the black test lead into the COM terminal of the meter (the COM terminal is not used if there is no leakage source).
- Test Wires ConnectionThe connection from the INSULATION terminal socket is the ground wire; The connection from the INSULATION terminal socket is the line wire; The connection from the COM terminal socket is the guard wire; connect it to the surface of the object under test to prevent surface leakage from affecting the test impedance. The screen displays the test voltage and “ ” when no test is in progress.
- Rated Voltage SelectionSelect the rated voltage required for your insulation resistance test by turning the range switch knob to the corresponding voltage range. According to the test time requirement, press the "TIME" key to select 15S/30S/1MIN/10MIN (S is seconds, MIN is minutes).
- Press the TEST buttonor the remote control button on the test lead, the red indicator light turns on, the main display area shows the current insulation resistance value, the secondary display area shows the actual measurement voltage, and the TEST and symbol displayed. When the insulation resistance exceeds the maximum measurement value, the instrument displays the 'OL' symbol or '>' symbol along with the maximum value of the current range.

VIII.Multimeter OperationIntroduction
AC/DC Voltage Measurement
- Switch the knob to the V Hz range;
- Insert the red test lead into “VΩ ”terminal, the black test into the “COM” terminal;
- Shortly press the “SELECT” key to switch to switch to the DCV or ACV function,Connect the leads in parallel to both ends of the voltage to be measured for measurement.LCD displays the test result value.
- Shortly press the “SELECT” key to switch to switch to the Frequency function, which can measure frequency from 10Hz to 20kHz with a voltage greater than 2V.
NOTE:
- The ACV/DCV measurement should not exceed 600Vrms. Although it is possible to measure higher voltages, it may damage the instrument and harm the user! The input impedance is all 10MΩ. This load effect will cause measurement errors when measuring high-resistance circuits. If the impedance of the measured voltage is ≤10kΩ, the error can be ignored (0.1% or lower).
- When measuring high voltage, pay high attention to safety to avoid electric shock!
- Before use, you can test the known voltage to confirm whether the product function is intact! When the voltage exceeds 30V, a symbol “ ” will be displayed to prompt careful operation.
Resistance, Diode and Continuity Measurement
- Switch the knob to “Ω ”range; the default is resistance function, press the “SELECT” key to choose the resistance/diode/continuity test;2). Insert the black test lead into “COM” terminal, and the red test lead into the “VΩ ”terminal;3). Connect the test leads in parallel to both ends of the test circuit or component, the test resistance value displays on LCD. When the test leads are open-circuited or the input is overloaded, the display will show "OL". When the short-circuit resistance of the test leads is greater than 0.6Ω, please check whether the test leads are loose or for other reasons.4). Press the "SELECT" key to switch to the continuity range, when the resistance value of the circuit under test is less than approximately 50Ω, it will automatically switch to the buzzer function, and the buzzer will sound;Note: The circuit under test must be checked for continuity with the power supply disconnected, because any load signal will cause the buzzer to sound, leading to incorrect judgments.5). Press the “SELECT” key to switch to the diode range, connect the test leads in parallel across the terminals of the diode under test (connect the red lead to the positive terminal), and read the forward voltage drop value. It can display the working voltage of LED below 3V. When the diode is connected in reverse or the input terminal is open, the display screen will show "OL".
Capacitance Measurement
1). Switch the knob to the capacitance range;2). Insert the black test lead into “COM” terminal, and the red test lead into the “VΩ ”terminal;3). Connect the test leads in parallel to both ends of the capacitor under test and read the capacitance value.
NOTE:
- When measuring, it is essential to ensure that there is no voltage on the circuit or component being measured. When the capacitance value is large, the measurement may take several seconds.
- Before measurement, please completely discharge the residual charge of the capacitor. This is especially important for capacitors with high voltage to avoid damaging the instrument and endangering personal safety.
Non ContactVoltage(NCV) Measurement
Warning:This functionmay cause false alarmsdueto differentexternal interference sources.Use the measurementresultsfor reference only.Set thefunctionswitchto the “NCV” position.Whenthe line to be tested is near the topof themeter, the meter displays signalstrength, and the buzzeremits a beepingalarm.
Note:
1.Voltagemay still be present even ifthere is no indication.Do not rely solelyon the non- contactvoltage detectorto determineif there isvoltage in a conductor.2.Detectionmay be affected by socket design, insulationthickness, and type.3.External interference sources (suchas flashlights, motors, etc.) may cause misjudgments.
IX. Auto PowerOff
The meter automatically turns off about 15 minutes after power-on if no button is pressed or knob is turned.Press and hold the HOLD button to wake it from sleep mode.
X. Battery Replacement
Do not replace the battery during the testing process. Additionally, to avoid electric shock accidents, before replacing the battery, please first turn the range switch to OFF and remove the test leads, etc.Loosen the screws on the battery cover of the device and open the battery cover. Replace with new batteries of the same specification, close the battery cover and tighten the screws.Note: The battery must not be installed with reversed polarity.
XI. Instrument maintenance
- Keep the instrument and test leads clean, dry and undamaged. You can clean the case with a clean cloth or detergent. Do not use abrasives or organic solvents.
- Avoid mechanical damage, vibration, shock, corrosion, and keep away from high- temperature positions and strong magnetic fields.
